You know how you learn best, and this is a good starting place. My aim is to help you to learn quickly, and to trust your own judgment. I want to demystify the ideas of "Management" as something very special that you can only learn from specialists, and to bring it into the world of common sense.

After working with managers for more than twenty years, I can see that there are two main questions for managers:

"What do we want to happen?" and "What is an effective way to make that happen?"

There's a third question of course: "How will we recognise that it's working?"

Answering those questions involves skills (being able to do things), knowledge (knowing about things): and understanding (being able to make sense of things). Newmanagersonline.net is designed to give you a place to come to find clear brief ideas on these, that you can take in easily and put into practice at once. In this way you can get the basics quickly, and build up your know-how and confidence for yourself.

You can ask more using the contact form, or join as a member and get even more personal support.

You can read the other questions that some people have asked, with their answers on the "Answers to questions" page.

You can subscribe to the monthly newsletter with timely ideas and tips. (see box below left)

If you become a member, you can do more. You can go to the members' site and quickly find more detailed and wider information, with scenarios to think about as well as clear information. You can plan your learning, or look up topics on the "just in time" page. There will be one afternoon a week when you can call for 15 minutes free advice. You can ask a question and have an answer that responds specifically to your individual question.

As well as this, you can request new topics to be covered on the members pages.

I'd love you to join!
